Ten Reasons
to Choose Us
10. Reputation
San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation is well-known and respected within
the local health care community. If you are from this area, chances
are you know someone – a former patient, family member or
friend, perhaps – who has something very positive to say about
San Joaquin. And our reputation is growing. In 2002, San Joaquin
achieved national recognition in U.S. News and World Report’s
annual ranking of America’s Best Hospitals.
9. Independence
At San Joaquin, we hire people who can do the job – and then
we let them do it. That leads to increased employee satisfaction
and growth.
8. Patient
Satisfaction
Our patient satisfaction ratings are consistently above 98 percent,
and outstanding mark for any organization and especially impressive
in healthcare. But rather than rest on our laurels, we constantly
tweak our patient satisfaction surveys to dig deeper and ensure
we are doing everything we can to serve our patients’ needs.
Our staff take pride in our outstanding patient outcomes and excellent
patient satisfaction scores.
7. Learning
and Education
Our commitment to our patients begins with our commitment to our
employees. We believe that the more you know, the better you can
be in your chosen profession. San Joaquin has a steadfast dedication
to employee learning and education. A clinical nurse educator specializes
in the development of the nursing staff. Numerous monthly continuing
education courses provide more than the required contact hours to
meet license renewal requirements without cost to the nurse. Due
to the success of this program, a similar position was recently
added for the development of our physical, occupational and speech
therapy staff. We also encourage our employees to further their
skills through continuing and higher education, a program supported
through competitive tuition reimbursement.
6. Teamwork
In many organizations, the word “teamwork” is as overused
as it is under-practiced. At San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation,
we put teamwork to the test every day. Here, it really is everyone’s
job to see that our patients receive the best possible care. At
San Joaquin we embrace the philosophy that the whole is much greater
than the sum of the parts. This means that each discipline communicates
with every other to design treatment plans that help our patients
achieve the best possible outcome.
5. Turnover
Our employee turnover is approximately two percent per month –
among the lowest in the industry. We are actively recruiting not
because people are leaving, but because we are growing. While we
our proud to say that our pay practices are competitive, it is true
that you might be able to make more money elsewhere. Chances are,
though, you won’t be as happy. Just ask one of our employees
who has left. And then come back.
4. Balance
The leadership team at San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation understands
that work is not life, and life is not work. We encourage our employees
to seek balance in their lives and support them in these efforts.
Adequate time away from work and flexible scheduling ensures that
time at work will be more productive and happy.
3. Variety
Inpatient rehabilitation. Outpatient rehabilitation. Community Fitness.
We strive to be all things related to physical rehabilitation. Our
objective is to offer our employees the opportunity to enhance their
skills through experience in any area of interest. Our patient population
presents a wide variety of neurological, orthopedic, medical and
surgical diagnoses, offering the clinician the opportunity to develop
expertise in a variety of settings.
2. Growth
Our inpatient census has increased 16 percent in the past two years.
Our outpatient volumes have increased 28 percent in the past 12
months. We’ve recently opened two new outpatient centers and
are currently studying plans for more. A new medical office building
on the main campus is in the works, as well. We’ve grown from
150 to 300 employees in the past five years, and we believe that
we are still in a mode of rapid growth.
1. ?
There really is no number one reason to choose San Joaquin Valley
Rehabilitation. If you ask ten employees what they like best about
their job, you are likely to get ten different answers. Why not
find out for yourself what makes San Joaquin a great place to work?
